A movie a day keeps insanity at bay.
On a quest to watch Ethan Hawke's entire filmography.
Joe Wright’s book to screen adaptation of Pride & Prejudice had me mesmerised from start to end. Wright captured the essence of Jane Austen’s beloved classic so brilliantly and did justice to the themes and characters.
Casting choice was spot on. Keira Knightley did a great job embodying the headstrong Lizzie Bennet. Matthew Macfadyen’s Mr Darcy had me completely smitten. I found Lizzie’s mother who’s obsessed with getting her daughters married rather annoying but the father character is so endearing and…
Finally saw this and i enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Such a fun movie – it’s silly and absurd. Greta Gerwig did an amazing job bringing Barbie to life.
Barbie tells a feminist story of women in pink who defy patriarchy. Margot Robbie was great as Barbie but the highlight is Ryan Gosling’s hilarious portrayal of Ken. Michael Cera was endearing as Allan and deserves a special mention.
I’m not one for pink but I absolutely loved the colour palette, set designs and costumes in Barbieland. Great soundtrack too, I Kennot get that Matchbox 20 song outta my head…
This film is a riot – absolutely hilarious gem of a dark comedy. Brilliant casting of Matthew Macfadyen as the straight man in charge of his father’s funeral arrangements. Then there’s the brother played by Rupert Graves as the successful writer. The rest of the cast are equally terrific – notably Alan Tudyk and Peter Dinklage.
You know it’s going to be funny when they bring the wrong coffin in the first scene. As relatives and friends arrive for the funeral, family secrets come to light and chaos ensues.
DEATH AT A FUNERAL is British humor at its finest.
Roadhouse is like a modern Western – an outsider comes to save a town run by a corrupt bad guy and his cronies. All women swoon over him, even the doctor who treats his bar fight injury. Patrick Swayze is shirtless most of the time, does taichi and rips throats with his bare hands. An added bonus was the bromance between Swayze and Sam Elliott.
Looking forward to the Jake Gyllenhaal remake.
Why did Apple spend $200 million on this trashy action film. Terrible script – cringe dialogue, unfunny jokes, atrocious CGI and goes on too long. It’s completely nonsensical in the third act with over-the-top action. Sam Rockwell was an unusual choice to play the secret agent and turns out he’s the only good thing in it. Bryan Cranston was completely wasted as the bad guy.
Argylle is enjoyable in some parts but overall it’s as bad as Henry Cavill’s hair
I did not expect to be hooked on a true crime adultery drama show. Honestly wish this was on Netflix just so I can binge it all in one day.
Elizabeth Olsen steals every scene with her outstanding performance and she deserves all the Emmys.
Can’t wait for the last 2 episodes
