How this striking indictment of the entertainment industry was made within in, especially in this way, as one of the first Hollywood films to explicitly play with this type of physiological horror, in 1662 is beyond me.
Bette Davis in this is 100% the definition of camp, full stop. I want to be as fearless in being myself as her one day, though of course, without the delusions of grandure and capibility to emotionally tourture.
Classic Hollywood at its most enjoyable and interesting, no doubt.
