It’s not as biting as it should be (and, iirc, was intended to be) but at least it’s extremely funny. Oh, and the Goldsmith score is i c o n i c.
The house is their relationship!! Do you get it?!?!!!! I’d say this movie ages like a good wine, but a more accurate description would be that it ages like Tom Hanks. It’s unstoppably funny, absurd to a perfect degree, and refreshingly progressive and mature in its exploration of relationships for an 80s romcom? God the ending is poetry. I’m going to watch it again right now.
