BONANZA’s review published on Letterboxd:
Singin’ in the Rain is such a gay ‘ol time. What a delight. It’s a musical that loves musicals and is not afraid to poke some fun at itself and the film industry it portrays, i.e. Hollywood. It’s tongue-in-cheek, self-referential, and multi-layered. Gene Kelly lights up the screen every time he is on camera. His charisma is off the charts! He truly is the epitome of the song and dance man. Donald O’Connor does an excellent job holding his own, too, and is a standout in Make ‘Em Laugh. Debbie Reynolds brings so much energy and spunk to the trio. Jean Hagen is hilarious in her comedic portrayal. Cyd Charisse is mesmerizing as the featured dancer in the Broadway Melody sequence. Every single number in this film is so fun, and there is never a dull moment. The coloring, the sets, the costumes, what a treat!
