No Strings Attached: A Continuing List of Cherished Favorites
Parents are the worst. They don't listen, they don't care, and they're all alcoholics—at least, that's what the teenagers in A Nightmare in Elm Street can all agree on. Sure, you know Freddy Krueger as the slasher icon who haunts teens and alters their dreams into nightmares. But have you really thought about the other movie's villain? The fucking parents. It takes a fire and an exhausting amount of screams for Nancy's father to even show an ounce of support. Yeah, this really is the perfect teen horror flick. A slasher lathered in one of the genre's coolest concepts and arranged so wonderfully by master Wes Craven—it's his most exhilarating film, and he probably knew it while he was using his craft to make it.
