Cube 2: Hypercube is one of those sequels which fails to understand that bigger does not necessarily equal better. However, I can't really fault it that much for trying: the first Cube has a self-contained story and there's not much else you can do with the concept of several people trapped in a deadly maze without falling into repetition.
I think the main fault of Cube 2 is having an ambitious concept without really knowing what to do with it. There are a few neat ideas, but there comes a point where the plot becomes a mess and the film never really recovers after that. A huge missed opportunity overall.
