I have no explanation as to why it took me so long to see Steven Spielberg's 1977 masterpiece.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind is visually stunning especially for it being made in the late 70's i could only imagine watching this back then. This was probably 1977's Gravity in comparison visually.
I love how the tension of the unknown builds the whole way through.
The way Spielberg takes his time laying out the story with masterful sound, lights, and storytelling it grabs you and you don't want to miss a second.
The story is driven by a superb performance from Richard Dreyfuss Maybe the best i've personally seen from him.
when he gets so into what is happening in the sky around him his mental state starts to unravel as he searches for answers everyone is wanting to know.
All the beautiful build leads to an absolute awesome ending, one i will never forget.
This is Sci-fi done right!
