Growing up, Friday the 13th: Part 3 was always my favorite in the series, and I think it still holds up really well to this day. Not to say that this movie doesn’t have it’s problems, but overall I just love watching it.

I always find this particular group of characters to be strangely fascinating, which could be because there’s just so much weirdness to them. I mean what the heck is up with Debbie’s pregnancy? It’s mentioned so offhandedly and then out of nowhere she’s ready for a beer? What? I normally don’t mind things like that not making sense in horror movies, but it’s just always felt very odd to me. 

My other issue is that I didn’t think the weird Jason flashback attack (almost rape?) was really necessary at all. It just feels incredibly out of place for this series, and kind of an odd direction to go in. Other than that, this movie has some fun kills, a great final girl, and is overall one of the better movies in the series.
