Black Adam 2022
Pretty solid action flick with a cool story I was not up to date on. The side characters were charismatic and the perspective of how a culture that isn’t American can view deities and superheroes.
You're Next 2011
A home invasion slasher with a bad ass “final girl” that had you cheering and laughing the whole way. A few iconic lines and kills like in the bedroom and kitchen. I almost didn’t give it a chance for the slow slow slow intro to the movie but I’m glad I stuck it through.
Marcel the Shell with Shoes On 2021
An endearing and wildly cute mockumentary movie that exists in a surreal world where little forgotten creatures like Marcel the shell experience our world, or better yet, we exist in theirs. The theme of perspective on life both in a metaphorical and literal sense resonates with anyone who loves hard, has had complicated and turmoil in their family, and/or has time trapping with big changes.
Don't Worry Darling 2022
Definitely an entertaining movie and an easy watch. The twist isn’t quite a twist if you’ve watched dystopian thrillers before. The symbology was so intentional and yet they never followed through with the red plane, eyes, mirrors, earthquakes etc. just doesn’t seem fleshed out. Florence Pugh was amazing though.
