Significantly sturdier and more thoughtful than Scream 5 and the mealy-mouthed, self-deflecting meta smugness isn’t too bad, keeping things mostly within it’s universe instead of chastising make believe online 11 year olds (although it’s not not here). Made me feel 300 years old at times and most kill sequences either bored me or were spoiled in the trailer, but hey —the teens are gonna be stoked. Purées themes from a recent slasher movie that everybody fucking hated but that movie did it way, way better
