Nick Bramham’s review published on Letterboxd:
Deeply powerful and moving and I really benefited from not knowing anything beyond the central premise (mother and son held captive in room) which I hear is kind-of spoiled in the trailer.
It really took me through the ringer emotionally, not even knowing into which genre we were straying - horror, psycho-drama, twisted romance?
Performance-wise Brie Larson and the kid are next-level, with her understatedness surely guiding his performance, which feels incredibly natural.
Some reservations and plot niggles and I'm not sure I need to see it again but it is quite an experience.
