Spent the last 24 hours trying to put my thoughts into words, but I’ll have to see this again a few times to take in everything. I can say with confidence that three features in, Jordan Peele is a cinematic force. Cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema brings his IMAX wizardry to the table, making this easily the best looking of Peele’s filmography so far. Certain scenes combine Spielberg-esque awe and wonder with the terror and existential dread that we’ve come to expect in his movies, making for a uniquely upsetting time at the theater. Watching in Dolby was great, but i’ll have to see it again in IMAX to get the full experience.
