I haven’t watched an anime on the big screen in 10 years, and I’m all for watching anime in theaters again because this was very good.
The animation and its colorful visuals are so beautiful to look at, and the soundtrack is so good. Suzu was a fun yet relatable protagonist, and the story was interesting to say the least.
Although, I feel that U’s rules, some characters and a few plot points toward the end were underdeveloped. But besides all that, it’s another solid film from Hosoda.
With every beginning having an end. Hollywood just loves to bring back franchises that didn’t need to be resurrected. Especially since Revolutions was supposed to be the end of the series. This not only sucked, it’s The Matrix but worse.
The Wachowski Sisters are disappointing directors in my book. They went from making an action classic to a cinematic disaster like Jupiter Ascending. I feel that they’re good at world building and creating neat visuals, but their storytelling is just…
