Brendan Hanson’s review published on Letterboxd:
Wes Craven definitely has some style when it comes to these movies. They’re slick, energetic and fun.
And the significance of pop culture in the dialogue makes it feel like a Tarantino-style horror movie. Which is kind of cool.
Now, this movie isn’t bad. It’s quite good! But it IS a little derivative. Not of other movies of the genre. But of itself.
The first one was gleefully self aware. This one is shamelessly self aware to the point where it got kind of annoying at times.
