Donnie Brasco 1997
Would love to know if the part where Bruno Kirby, James Russo, and Michael Madsen bury Al Pacino in sand after he falls asleep on the beach is part of the "based on a true story".
Forgot how much of a schmuck Pacino is in this. It's actually kind of sad. Makes his performance and the stakes around him far more interesting.

It affected me emotionally and that's the greatest compliment you can pay a filmmaker.

Chilly Scenes of Winter 1979
Me 10 minutes in: "Huh. Weird move to center a rom-com around this guy. He seems a little creepy."
Me 10 minutes before the end: "Ohhh. Yup. Got it."
Can't quite decide if this is an anti-rom com, or just the only true rom-com that realistically shows people and relationships as they really are. Either way it's deeply uncomfortable!
