This is hauntingly, devastatingly beautiful in every way. Just sitting and marinating in the melancholy of this film for 99 minutes is haunting and unforgettable and strangely therapeutic. I love melancholy, atmospheric films, and this takes it to an entirely new level. It feels so rare to not only be this enveloped by and invested in a film, but to feel as if you are actively learning something about filmmaking in the process. I did not even feel like I was watching a movie, yet it was so fundamentally educational in moviemaking. I know I am so late to the party on this movie, but gosh it is immaculate.
