  • The Intruder

    The Intruder

It's too bad so much of it has to rely on Meagan Good being the most naive character in the world but Dennis Quaid makes up for it by completely leaning into his blend of charisma and menace.

  • Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

It’s about family! And a supervirus. And Dwayne Johnson’s abs. And Jason Statham’s head. And Vanessa Kirby’s eyes. And Black Superman. But mostly family!

  • Alita: Battle Angel

    Alita: Battle Angel

At first, I really liked it. Strong world-building, character design, performances. Then it lost me with all the Rollerball shit and a love story that doesn't work. Then it got me back! Mostly. It's a rollercoaster!

It's one of those odd movies that I wouldn't blame anyone for loving OR hating, but I'm somehow in the middle.

  • Murders in the Zoo

    Murders in the Zoo

This movie is cuckoo. And nearly great.

  • Luz

I’m not quite as over the moon as some of my colleagues but I am ALL IN for whatever this director does next.

  • The Wandering Earth

    The Wandering Earth

Roland Emmerich called and said calm down.

  • Blinded by the Light

    Blinded by the Light

    Alexa, play The Boss.

  • Bumblebee

I hate Michael Bay even more now I’m reminded that this series could have remembered to be FUN years ago.

Also, Hailee Steinfeld rules. Every time.

  • Aquaman

Kinda love some of the framing and use of space and Arthur stuff and Lovecraft stuff and all the supporting cast.

    Kinda hate the bloat.

Kidman has a moment late that is the best piece of acting in a DCU movie and it’s silent.

As much as I wish some other other decisions were made, I’ll be ALL over the sequel.

  • Good Boys

    Good Boys

Didn’t work as well for me as it seemed to for the rest of the crowd except for the fact that I laughed pretty much every time Keith L. Williams had a line. Every time. Tremblay is a great young actor but Williams steals this one.

  • Overlord

    Were you in the shit?
Yeah, I was in the shit.

  • Waterworld

So much water. Better than I remembered but certainly no lost classic either.
