Upgrade ★★★½

High concept sci-fi with a splash of body horror and dash of black humor. The first twenty minutes of set up is a bit rough and messy, but once it gets moving it hums and keeps upping itself. I thought the jerky style of the action that follows the characters movements that I saw in the trailer wasn’t going to work for me, but the execution is actually really well handled and adds to the aesthetic of the film.
