what an incredible cinematic experience!!! i was so immersed into this that i didn't even realise the runtime. amazing use of sound throughout (the trinity test and its aftermath is so chilling), technically very brilliant as is classic nolan and with incredible intense performances from basically half of hollywood
margot robbie you absolute star!!! she sold this so well, i kind of wish there was less ken so she could have more screen time (sorry ryan gosling i love you too). and the set design and costumes were wonderful too, i loved the perfect pastel simplicity of barbieland
it was very on-the-nose about its messages of feminism and leadership and the patriarchy, i only wish it had gone a bit deeper into it because it was just very simple? but a fun watch nonetheless ๐ฉท
when i eventually go to paris, if it is not as magical and wonderful and romantic as this movie makes it seem, i'm going to come to your house and yell at you @ brad bird
what a disappointment, i really expected more of this
with all the attention this script has been getting, i thought it would actually be funnier and more timely maybe. but instead this film felt like an excuse for the writer to have his characters say every swear word and offensive term he could think of and to mention a whole list of triggering topics but not actually go into any of them, like rape, police brutality, racism, domestic abuse, depression,โฆ
