Wow. The Worst Person in the World truly blew me away. It’s really a hard film to dissect after just watch, I’m definitely going to have to watch it again to fully get together my thoughts. But I’m pretty sure I loved everything about it. Such a raw and genuine film with wonderful writing, direction, filmmaking, and acting. Renate Reinsve truly gives what I think to be my favorite performance of the year. She’s absolutely electrifying and brilliant, she is so believable as Julie that a lot of the time I forgot I was watching a film and it just felt like I was just watching her life during this tumultuous period in her life when she’s turning 30 and navigating through relationships. The supporting cast is also brilliant and helps bring this film to life and makes it as masterful as it is. There’s so much that I could say about The Worst Person in the World, I’m just not quite sure how to fully articulate everything I have to say about it right now. Definitely check it out, give Renate Reinsve and Joachim Trier all the awards.
