this movie was not only brutal, but beautiful in its brutality. alexander skarsgard gives one of the most impressive performances of all time, with anya taylor joy providing a brilliant supporting role. a cycle of hate tale that is broad in its scope and greek in its narrative. some of the best cinematography i have ever witnessed in film. this is one of my favorites ever, that last hour is one of the most excruciating stretches of any piece of art i’ve ever seen. robert eggers you have outdone yourself.
