One of the most fascinating and original world buildings I've ever seen. Reusing classic fairy tales and mythologies for the modern age ain't anything new, but the creative writing and implementing of relatable real life struggles definitely elevate Trollhunter from other lesser films. I want to see an entire cinematic universe of this with different monsters, there's just so much potential here! This kind of film can lose audience easily during the walking around parts, but the beautiful landscapes and cleverly framed shots definitely help things from getting too boring. Trollhunter also has such great use of low budget CGI, the visual effects never feel too cheap and out of place, they all hold up very well for 3,5 million even almost 10 years later. Hard to believe this thing has better CGI than some of the more recent blockbuster nowadays.
