A far better and vastly more entertaining film than Leatherface, but do not mistake that as praise - it is merely a fact. The film itself isn't very good, but what did you expect from a series that goes like this:
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The New Generation
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
There are only so many combinations of the same 4 fucking words,…
An ambitious and daring visionary experience crafted with breathtaking imagination and intelligence. Steven Speilberg's technical mastery and Phillip K. Dick's ingenious source material combine to create a immensely complex dystopian worlds that will dazzle your senses and challenge your mind. One of the best sci-fi thrillers of the last 20 years, Speilberg proves yet again that when giving more mature material he can work magic with it.
Steven Spielberg's last dying breath as a maker of masterpieces.
The film is saturated in creativity. Everything is unique and memorable. Why is nobody putting this much care into films anymore? That sonic shotgun you charge by spinning took more thought to create than entire films today, and that's just one tiny little part of the movie.
Man, I miss movie-making like this.
I don’t think until I actually started trying to write a sci-fi on a large scale that I began to see what the writing process looks like from the writer’s perspective.
This movie is an excellently written story. There’s almost entirely all showing and no telling, when things are told they are told naturally in the course of conversation and advance the plot.
And the foreshadowing! So excellently executed!
Tim Blake Nelson’s first scene is a perfect example of how…
Folks, listen clearly...
The only way to make these movies stop, is to stop making them profitable.
This exists because of people like you, paying actual money to see Terminator: Geyinysiis knowing it was the festering, rancid turd that it turned out to be.
It's your fault this exists. But that means you have the power to ensure this is the last of its kind.
Do not go to the theater. Stay home. Read spoilers. You are not that curious.…
Oh boy, the bigots of Letterboxd aren't going to appreciate this all-male story with about 8 seconds of women on screen and not one of them saying a damn thing. I think I can hear their wailing utterances now, demented calls for ending the lives of a specific group of individuals in totality with no exception and for no justifiable reason - which is the same logic racists use, in case you were wondering. And these deranged individuals - who…
⚠️ Trigger Warning ⚠️
I know, I know. You saw the rating. I can already hear you shouting, “Blasphemy!” from the rooftops. Sorry, but I’m not sorry. I just don’t think this movie is nearly as good as people say that it is. It’s good, but it’s not the masterpiece most proclaim it to be, at least not to me. GoodFellas is an exceptional gangster film. It’s highlighted by amazing direction from Martin Scorsese. Amazing understanding of pacing and…
