The editing!! The way that the transitions and cuts played with time and space was super disorienting, making the final 10mins of twists and flashbacks super shocking and effective. 

It’s rare that a sequel is able to build so well on its previous material, but the world created by Wan and Whannell is so detailed and interwoven that it allows for numerous films without seeming tedious or overdone (at least for now, I’ll get back to you once I finish Saw 9...).
