    This is the second time I was left completely dumbfounded by a silent film, the first time being "The Phantom Carriage". I realize I'm doing anything new or special by commending this movie, but there really is something incredible about seeing a film that's 6 years away from being a hundred years old be this contemporary in its style... Especially within the compositions and editing.

    Some of the imagery has been seared into my brain, the way the film operates…

    Admittedly, I'm not familiar with Baldwin's work as a writer, but seeing him in his element here and just hearing him speak for a few minutes gave me the urge to read every single piece of work he produced.
