    Always Be My Maybe

Really good for a mainstream comedy. Many laughs throughout, and a surprisingly good cameo from Keanu Reeves. I heard about his cameo before watching, and I saw a clip that seemed like a throwaway. Even thought the surprise was ruined, there was actually much more to it than I expected. I kind of loved it. Requiem for a Dream

The title says it all: You know from the first moment that things aren't going to turn out well; but you can't help but stare, horrified, once things get moving. Requiem is filled to the brim with technical creativity, and every bit of style supports the substance. Still, with so much going on, it's easy to overlook the stunning performances led by Ellen Burstyn (in her Oscar nominated role). I know Requiem is on a lot of "Great Films I'll Never Watch Again" lists, but you owe it to yourself to see it at least the once.
