Watching this movie made me realize how much I love Willem Dafoe as an actor.
I really like the juxtaposition of the rundown motel and the Magic Kingdom, and the main idea of that ending is heartbreaking.
I really love films like these. It’s part of why I loved Never Rarely Sometimes Always, Kids, and some of Harmony Korine’s other work.
They give a chance to understand. They give an ear to unheard stories, and I love it.
