Opens with two people in the future having a debate about marriage and one says "I believe marriage should be between two men and two women." I thought that was clever.
Anyway, the film is about space travelers in the future exploring the college Mark works at...I mean a new planet. Journey with them as they shift through ancient artifacts in the Polonia family basement...I mean the ruins of a former civilization.
A mysterious character occasionally spouts some mumbo jumbo in an attempt to capture Herbert's "Fear is the mind killer" statements. The difference being the things characters say in Herbert's Dune had a point to them. These parts of the film feel like someone read Dune but didn't understand it.
There's also a fat android. Why would you design an android to be fat?
