The Pink Panther ★★

"If I were my father, I'd have you tortured."
"No. If you were your father, I doubt very much if I would have kissed you."

I remember starting to watch this as a kid when it was on TV and being very disappointed that the cartoon Pink Panther wasn't in the film, just the credits. The rest of this didn't appeal to my little kid brain, so I changed the channel or went outside or any number of things. Oddly enough, forty+ years hasn't changed my opinion that much. There are more things of interest now, but the cartoon during the opening credits is still the best part, though Claudia Cardinale is a close second, even saddled with David Niven for most of her scenes.

Henry Mancini did an absolutely fantastic job with the score, though. Two notes into it and it's completely recognizable.
