Stand by Me

Stand by Me ★★★★★

"I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?"

Stand by Me is focused on childhood nostalgia for the good old days of hanging out with your best friends. Rob Reiner recreates the 1950s with the clothing, music, town setting, natural surroundings and the open journey adventure these children undertake. His long panning shots down winding train tracks and forest paths are as gorgeous as the sun sets and warm feelings of yesterday. Overall, it's filled with great humor, while the drama that comes with getting older should relate to anyone.
