There were some editing/music choices in the climax that did not gel with me at all (which is strange because I found the editing and score brilliant outside of those moments) but that didn't stand in the way of me loving the shit out of this.
I'm not smart enough to really dive into the sociopolitical elements of the story or like...anything else about this movie but I do just wanna take a moment to appreciate 2018, which has given me 3 of the best horror movies I've ever seen in this, Hereditary, and of course Annihilation (still my #1 of the year even if nobody else is still talking about it!!!).
My favourite genre really is thriving rn and I'm so here for it.
