V/H/S ★★★★

Realising weirdly upon rewatch that I think that the closing "10/31/98" segment by Radio Silence might be my favourite of the lot - even alongside the brilliant "Amateur Night" by David Bruckner. All of the segments are fantastically weird and wonderful, and are equal parts uncomfortable, grisly, and deeply fun. Shame about the wrap-around, which is still equal parts boring and abrasive. This film is like getting the perfect haul of trick-or-treat candy, but instead of a bucket, you went round door-to-door with a ratty old paper bag from under the sink. And it was raining. It was raining hard.

Just to clarify, this film is still great, though. You should still absolutely watch it.
