Despite a couple jarring CGI moments, Pulse is an effectively spooky J-horror, the closest thing I've seen to a creepypasta in movie form. Its commentary on the Internet / loneliness is unsubtle, but very much still relevant
7 2nd films of franchises (5/7) (calling the Three Mothers trilogy a franchise is a stretch but whatever)
The plot is super thin, never amounting to much beyond "someone is killing people for knowing too much". But honestly, I enjoyed this more than Suspiria. Argento really let loose with this one - the movie feels like him improvising, executing whatever scene or visual idea came to mind. Pretty good Goblin-ish score by E of ELP.
The best in the trilogy
