I wasn't sure going in that Lady Bird would live up to the hype I'd seen around it especially considering it isn't normally the kind of film I would love but wow this is a special film. Every element of it worked together perfectly to create a film that felt incredibly real and credit for that I think has to go to Gerwig and the cast. The small details in the film are what makes it so believable and true to life and you can feel how much care went into them. It might not match a film like Phantom Thread on a technical level but on an emotional level it's absolutely unmatched. The last 15 minutes, from the airport onwards are just heartbreakingly perfect. An absolute marvel of a film and I'll definitely be going back to see this again.
