War movies are tricky because it takes more intentionality to develop characters- they all tend to look the same in uniform, covered in dirt and blood, that you tend to forget who's who (which is accidentally profound in and of itself). I felt that way here, and didn't feel super attached to the characters. With that said, the cinematography, score, and other technical pieces of the film were absolutely gorgeous.
