Camille Intson’s review published on Letterboxd:
Heeeeeere we go again!!!!
So the novelty of Annette has worn off for me a bit, but I will never not adore and defend the shit out of this movie. Its cinematic, directorial, musical (operatic) influences are taken from so many diverse camps — and what I love most about it is that you can judge it, but you can’t really compare it to anything. Carax is a director far ahead of his time and Annette is a film that’ll be a cult classic in 10-20 years. WE LOVE ANNETTE. Now brb gonna go write some queer posthuman erotica about baby annette and the titane baby getting it on in an apocalypse bunker*
(*CLARIFICATION, when they’re older, sickos!)
