Cam’s review published on Letterboxd:
”He’ll be famous.
Every child in our world will know his name.”
Well, bless my soul, it’s Harry Potter!
I should start off by saying I’m not the target audience for these films, so there will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this writeup…. Oh! I shouldn't have said that.
As for the film, the first first half does a fantastic job of world building as it inducts us into the school of Hogwarts. The costume and set design are outstanding, and that swoop through the dining hall with the floating candles is a majestic sight. The second half, is a bit too drawn out for my taste, but It’s fascinating to think that you-know-who might have gotten away with it, if it weren’t for those meddling kids and that mangy three-headed dog… I should not have said that.
Finally, I really hate to be the Muggle in the mud, but compared to ‘Fellowship of the Rings’ the CGI in this is extremely dated and far from magical. Therefore, as punishment for your actions, 50 points will be taken…
Shouldn't have said that. No more questions, don't ask anymore questions!
”That was bloody brilliant”
“Well, thank you for that assessment, Mr Weasley.”
