Stephen’s King’dom Marathon: Film #57
”There’s something in the mist”
I’ve grown to admire this movie more and more over the years. For me it’s the ultimate monster movie and I love the way it balances the horrors of the creatures outside with the horrors of humanity inside.
The performances are all outstanding. Lead by the always great Andre Braugher as the overly skeptical lawyer and Marcia Gay Harden as one of the scariest monsters I’ve ever seen.
it should mentioned that the best way to watch this film is via the black & white version, with all of your lights and distractions turned off.
BONUS POINTS for the ultimate in nihilistic endings, and props to Darabont for actually being able to convince the studio to let him have it.
"You can’t convince some people there’s a fire even when their hair is burning."
