The sequence where Denham asks Ann to do some camera tests, where he has her pretend she's looking up and seeing something awful, is a chilling bit of foreshadowing. KING KONG was a revolutionary landmark in special effects, but the fact that the excitement of adventure and the adrenaline of destruction still holds up is maybe its greatest accomplishment.
