Wes’s review published on Letterboxd:
I've officially opened the door to Ingmar Bergman's filmography, and I'm NEVER going back. I've never seen anything like Persona, and I doubt I ever will. It's probably the most hypnotizing and haunting movie I've seen since Under the Skin, the nightmarish opening images accompanied by the skin crawling score is seared into my brain forever. Identity, motherhood, duality, and stability is explored and then unfolds over the runtime like a bad dream with the surrealism and uncertainty of the characters situations and mental states playing out in a way that's dread inducing in ways most horror movies cant measure up to. Getting a filmstruck account was the best decision I've ever made, since it led me to Persona. Now onto Ingmar Bergman's other films.
