This film is such a gem.

    Cuarón es un MAESTRO.

This will forever stand as one of the most beautiful movies I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. I’m so happy I got to see it at the theater in its day—one of my favorite movie-going experiences.

It is downright inexcusable that this masterpiece didn’t win best picture. Never forget. I thank my lucky stars every day that the same thing didn’t happen to Parasite.

  • Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

    Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

I know this is a very hot take but god this movie is so incredibly cool. Look away for even just a second and you’d be doing yourself and the film a great disservice. It’s also easily the best Spider-Man movie.

You’re telling me David Lynch didn’t direct this? Not even just the third act? I mean, surely he must hav—no? Oh...

  • Call Me by Your Name

    Call Me by Your Name

I don’t know whether to call it heartbreakingly beautiful or beautifully heartbreaking. I do know it’s a masterpiece, though.

So I started the book yesterday and finished it today because I wanted to watch the movie (I have this thing where if a movie I’m interested in is being adapted from a book, I’ll want to read the book first). And I don’t know why I was expecting this to be a one-to-one retelling of the book, cause it’s not. Though it’s actually fairly close (in structure/order of events, more than anything), this is a Charlie Kaufman movie through…

  • The Big Lebowski

Hey man, John Goodman was (and I cannot stress this enough) absolutely fucking hysterical in this.

    Everybody in this movie: 👁👄👁

  • The Vast of Night

    The Vast of Night

I really dug this. The atmosphere and performances are everything. The music was great, too. I also thought this would’ve made for a very cool pilot for a Twin Peaks/Stranger Things type of show since I liked the characters, setting, and story enough to want to see more, but as a movie and a complete story I thought it worked very well.

Also, this and Midnight Special should switch titles.
