    Christmas classic.

Hey man, John Goodman was (and I cannot stress this enough) absolutely fucking hysterical in this.

  • Road to Roma

    Road to Roma

Too many good quotes by the maestro himself in this so I won’t even bother writing them down, just watch it, it’s worth it.

Yeah awards don’t matter or whatever we say on here, but words simply cannot express the disappointment I felt when Roma didn’t win best picture. Now, I’m Mexican, but obvious bias aside, I do genuinely think it deserved best picture. At least over fucking Green Book.
I’m so glad they didn’t fuck it up with Parasite…

  • Doctor Sleep

    Doctor Sleep

Wow. Such, such a worthy sequel to The Shining. This is a film that doesn’t mind taking its time and fully embraces and even elevates the original while pulling some new tricks of its own. The cast is great, especially Rebecca Ferguson, and it totally succeeds in creating a good creepy, eerie horror atmosphere, with some moments that were just straight up hard to watch. Also gotta shoutout Ewan McGregor for really establishing Danny Torrance as a likable, and dare I say iconic character.

This was cruising to a nice 4 star rating...then the ending happened. Wow. Could easily see myself bumping it up to 5 in the future.
Also, how much of the tension in this was due to all the people yelling and talking over each other? PROBABLY A LOT HUH.

Ugh we’re only a week away from Christmas and watching this movie was the first time this whole month I’ve felt like “whoa, it’s almost Christmas!” and got excited.
Right up there with the Paddington movies in terms of wholesomeness.
This movie was so christmasy it made me have milk and cookies while watching it. Yeah this movie was so christmasy it reverted me to an 8 year old and it was great. An instant Christmas classic.
Also the carrot gag was just the absolute best.

    “Fucking rich people 😩”
The definition of fun. Felt like a cross of Get Out and Game Night directed by Edgar Wright. Tense and hilarious at the same time. Pissed I missed it at the theater. Also, why weren’t people hyping this up as much as they hyped Midsommar or Us? Cause it’s just as good if not better than those. Samara Weaving was sooo good, too.
Still not as dysfunctional as my family tho.

  • The Shining

Finally watched this and was not disappointed, wow. I found the first hour to be kind of slow, maybe too slow, but that’s to be expected. After that, though, my heart was racing for the entire last 90 minutes. Jack Nicholson is magnetic.

  • Nocturnal Animals

    Nocturnal Animals

    This cast is too powerful.

As soon as Michael Shannon showed up I actually said, out loud, “hell yeah baby!”

And Jake Gyllenhaal getting bullied is not cool, not cool at all.

  • John Wick

    John Wick

Man, I’ve been in a funk and haven’t really been in the mood to watch movies lately (practically all year tbh), but thank god-I mean thank Keanu was there to pull me back.

This really lived up to the hype for me, it was so fun and very well done. Loved the action, the humor, and the world building. It felt pretty light but had substance. Just what I needed.

Gonna try to knock out 2 later and catch 3 before it leaves theaters.

  • Captain Marvel

-Liked this WAYYY more than I thought I would wow
-It largely felt like one of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies and that was so welcome to see
-Loved how much personality she had
