TIFF 2013 Coverage Movie #3
Really dug it. I found it tense, disturbing and well-edited. Nothing like a horror movie for Friday the 13th! (if you can claim this a horror for that matter)
One of those "shit hits the fan" movies. Didn't quite like the incorporation of the VICE documentary thing, that felt really fake knowing that this was indeed based on a real tragic event that shook the world in the late 70's. Other than that I really immersed myself into it and understood both sides of the spectrum, the journalists covering the cult and the members. Gene Jones played "Father" and he did a damn good job. I loved it!
