Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi ★★★

This movie tears me. It does some things very well, and some things terribly.

The relationship that is grown between Kylo Ren and Rey is great. Their communication through the force is a unique and exciting aspect that really builds up these two characters. Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley really shine in this movie.

Everything else in this movie really falls flat for me, and commits one of the cardinal sins for me. This movie is boring. Boring in everything that doesn’t have to do with Kylo/Rey.

Poe and Finn do have character arcs, but they are so lazy. Whenever the story switches to these characters the movie comes to a screeching halt. Which is sad because I feel nothing for Poe and Finn in this movie, but they are our main heroes! Speaking of screeching halt look no further than the worst “chase sequence”, if you can call it that, I can think of. Space ships slowly crawling through space with the level of stakes being zero. It’s hard to watch.

I love Mark Hamill’s performance of Luke in this move. Don’t agree with some of the character choices, but everyone has their own vision.

Verdict- Not as bad as I remember, but still not great 🤷🏻‍♂️
