Citizen Kane

Citizen Kane ★★★★★

Tem tudo.

A infância como a única época em que se foi feliz.

O amor:  “You don't love anybody! Me or anybody else! You want to be loved - that's all you want!”.

A velhice: “Old age. It's the only disease, Mr. Thompson, that you don't look forward to being cured of.”

A “maldição” da memória: “I can remember everything. That's my curse, young man. It's the greatest curse that's ever been inflicted on the human race: memory.”

O facto de ser sempre à “minha maneira”: “A toast, Jedediah, to love on my terms. Those are the only terms anybody ever knows - his own.”

Como Proust diz “todas as pessoas estão de facto sozinhas”:  “- Susan Alexander Kane: I don't know many people.
- Kane: I know too many people. I guess we're both lonely.”
