I'll admit, I had major doubts coming into the movie theater to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home.
After the first 15 minutes, I thought my doubts had been confirmed. The start of the movie was slow and awkward. However, after that, this movie really took off. My doubts were quickly dispelled as I was caught up not only in the overarching hero vs villain plot, but in the subplot of MJ and Peter, which was surprisingly well done. The humor was excellent, with most if not all of the jokes landing, carried by the character interactions between the charismatic cast.
Tom Holland had perhaps his best acting performance as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Jake Gyllenhaal was as expected: brilliant. Without going in-depth, Mysterio is a Top 3 ___________ in the MCU.
The CGI was phenomenal, perhaps the best I've seen in a superhero movie, save Aquaman. The mid-credit scene was mindblowing, and makes me very, very excited for the future of our Peter Parker. Also, I thought the way they handled the Snap was awkward, but overall solid, and I'm glad they addressed it.
Overall, Spider-Man: Far From Home is a phenomenal addition to the superhero genre as a whole, and gives me hope for the MCU post-Endgame.
