This movie is not as devastating as Takahata's Grave of the Fireflies, but still somewhere around there on the top 10 most miserable movies (at least for me).

I had this experience before with some movies, when more or less all is lost, what is even left to live for? That's obviously a very dark question to ask, but for a movie like this, I just ended up losing hope towards the middle, even if a lot happened the second half.

The last 10-15 minutes really hit me hard and I wish there could have been more slow, thoughtful moments like that.

Blade II goes the Aliens route and team blade up with a crew of badass vampires to fight an even bigger threat.

Well, the introduction of the crew is probably when they're most cool. The rest of the movie they're just a bit lame. And I decided to watch this when I found out that Donnie Yen was part of it. But turns out he's barely in it. He did choreograph the fight scenes, so that's always something.

    Wesley Snipes…

A very slow folk "horror" slasher where none of the kills really come come as a surprise at all.

The concept of witches as shapshifters is interesting and could turn into an exciting film. However, the approach this one takes with bully-witch and the other one ending up as the village idiot multiple times becomes boring quickly.

It's like The VVitch meets Under the Skin filmed like a Malick drama. In other words, not for me.
