If there is a word that describes this film it has to be inconsistent. From writing to directing to editing to special effects to sets to even the performances. Maybe the only consistent things in this film are the production design and Emily Blunt's performance.
If someone tells me Del Toro scenes were shot at two periods of time with a year or two gap, I'll believe it. Either that or the makeup and Lighting have failed him.
The practical effects are great in some sequences while the CGI is bad in a lot of them. The gory kills are a plus.
