Emotionally manipulative like a Pixar film - Room had me bouncing up and down like a child feeling hopeful - then reality sets in and crushes me into a cold dark place. The film had me twisting and turning at the edge of my seat - scared to death at times - and tearing up out of sheer joy - then feeling confused and volatile. I found myself empathizing with the characters so much - I saw the 1030AM showing and I'm here finally writing this at 5PM - still wrecked and feeling it.
Mad Max: Fury Road was a roller coaster of sights and sounds and meaningful action - Room was the equivalent emotionally. I fucking loved it! Brie Larson not only deserves all the awards - but so does Jacob Tremblay. Amazing.
