Charles’s review published on Letterboxd:
The primary encounter with Mysterio is legitimately one of the best sequences I’ve ever seen on display in an action blockbuster.
Whoa boy are people going to -HATE- this movie. They’ll complain it has none of the workings of a Spider-Man movie due to its scale and setting, while in the end, it’s the charm and idiosyncrasies of the character that tie this all together. They’ll complain that (SPOILER) and (SPOILER) are the same character carried over from the previous movie, completely missing the purpose of their characters in the bigger picture. I spend my days whining to me, myself, and I about how we need another Raimi entry in some form and this convinced me that I can settle for a Watts Trilogy (for now). I’m almost certain it’s going to be THE LAST JEDI of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So yeah, it’s kinda stellar.
If I want to keep my job I’m not allowed to talk about where and when I saw this. 🤐
